I'm Crystal Street — co-creator of the CommsOS methodology with Taylor Kendal and its first practitioner.
What I bring to a build is 25+ years of communications pattern recognition across photojournalism, blockchain ecosystems, explainable AI, and nonprofit impact work — combined with daily AI collaboration since 2023. I've watched organizations break when they treat communications as cosmetic. I've named harm inside institutions and absorbed the consequences. That pattern recognition — knowing what to load into AI systems, when, and why — is what turns documentation into infrastructure.
The methodology is open. Anyone can read it and begin building. What you're hiring here is the implementation expertise: voice extraction, organizational intelligence synthesis, and the architectural judgment that makes the system work for your specific context.

What I Build

Group workshops plus async support for practitioners within a membership organization, advocacy network, or professional ecosystem. Each participant builds their own operating system in a 3-4 week sprint. Capped at 10 per cohort.

soloOS Builds — starting at $2,500
A 1:1 build for individual practitioners. Your operating system, built with my pattern recognition applied to your specific practice. Discovery, architecture, and delivery across 2-3 weeks.
For communicators, consultants, advocates, and independent professionals who want a system that sounds like them — not like the AI's training data.
Full CommsOS Builds — starting at $5,000
Organizational systems with governance layers, ontology, voice architecture, and institutional maintenance infrastructure. Eight interconnected components built from your actual communications — not templates, not brand guidelines.
For organizations at an inflection point with the resources to build and maintain over time. Regulated verticals, complex stakeholder landscapes, teams producing content at scale.
Advisory Retainers — $3,000–5,000/month
Ongoing strategic support post-build. System evolution, crisis communications frameworks, new use case implementation, proof point updates. 6-10 hours/month. 3-month minimum.
soloOS Builder Membership — $250/month

The Methodology
CommsOS is an open methodology — co-created with Taylor Kendal through The Human Layer, our joint creative practice and knowledge garden. The full architecture, component documentation, and educational content live at CommsOS.org.
The methodology will transfer to Factland, a 501c3 nonprofit building a credentialed practitioner network to steward the methodology and reskill knowledge workers navigating the AI transition. Hiring me now means working with the methodology's architect while that ecosystem develops.
